W-Series Just below the wheel, a spring tensioned friction sleeve is used to provide a smooth feel to the driver and prevent motion of the wheel due to inertia without an input from the driver. A durable worm gear drive, supported by two, 3/8″ ball bearings underneath the wheel, is coupled internally to 3-independent and redundant electronic devices for unsurpassed safety and reliability. All electronics are completely isolated from the forces applied to the wheel, and a unique clutching device is incorporated to protect the mechanism and to allow the forward position of the orthotic to be adjusted to any location on the wheel. The flexibility of the software allows the turn-ratio of the W-Series to be programmed to the OEM steering wheel by a certified dealer.
