Happy New Year!
2025 has come to an end and we are ready for 2026! This year we are celebrating 40 years of EMC and drive-by-wire technology! In 1986, Scott Bolduc invented the world's first drive-by-wire system, later patenting the joystick-operated system 1990. This system revolutionized adaptive driving and the rest is history! 40 years later, drive-by-wire technology has allowed many people to gain their automotive independence and experience the freedom of driving. We are very proud of all of EMC's accomplishments through the years and want to take a look back at 2025 in this newsletter. We have a couple new things to share and there will a be few things you'll recognize if you've been following along throughout last year.
Chevy Equinox Shifting
We had many custom installation vehicles roll into our shop throughout 2025. Each custom installation requires our engineers to conduct research and development to understand and ensure AEVIT compatibility. Some include a Ford Edge, Ford Transit, Infiniti QX50 and QX55, and a Chevrolet Equinox. The Chevy Equinox introduced an Electronic Precision Shifter, which moves the shifter from the center console area to the steering column, requiring you to push the stalk down for drive, up for reverse, and pull back for neutral, and has a dedicated button for park. After some time learning how this shifting works alongside AEVIT, we are happy to announce this Electronic Precision Shifting is controllable through AEVIT!
The General
You may have heard talks of the EMC tractor-trailer and wondered when you might see it. Throughout 2025, we have been working to create a mobile unit to travel the country and bring to trade shows. We are now one-step closer to completing this project. At the end of November, we dropped the truck off at BriDesigns in Oakland, ME to have the outside beautifully wrapped. Here are some pictures of the amazing work!
We have big ambitions for the trailer and are very excited to get this on the road.
GenX Display and Additional Auxiliary Icons
While this is not new news, it was a major thing that happened in 2025. Last January, we released the GenX Display, an upgrade to the previous AEVIT 2.0 Display. It features a new modern design, an updated LCD and user interface. As we are working on AEVIT NextGen (the next iteration of the AEVIT System) we wanted everyone to get a taste of what's to come and be able to upgrade their AEVIT 2.0 System. If you are looking to upgrade, please contact your EMC dealer and let them know of your interest.
Later in the year, our engineers began working on upgrading the auxiliary functions. If you have the GenX Display, you can now program an additional 4 secondary functions through the auxiliaries. That's 8 auxiliary functions in total! These auxiliaries can be any vehicle function you need to operate in the vehicle. Please let our sales team know which functions you plan to program in these auxiliary slots when prescribing or ordering as additional R&D may be required.

A.I. Commander Voice Control
In the last quarter of 2025, we released our improved voice command system, the A.I. Commander. We began this project of revamping the old VIC System when many evaluators expressed interest in a reliable AEVIT voice recognition system for their clients. The A.I. Commander features quick response times, audible feedback, and an updated voice.
Currently, the A.I Commander is compatible with AEVIT 2.0 and is programmed with 17 commands. If there is an additional command you wish to have programmed, please let our sales team know. We plan to improve this system further as we continue with AEVIT NextGen developments.
Looking Forward to a Great Year!
In 2025, we certified 18 AEVIT vehicle technicians from across the US, trained 11 evaluators on the AEVIT 2.0 controls, and attended 2 conferences where we were able to connect with many people within our industry! We want to congratulate everyone that trained with us this year and thank you for the work you do. We are now scheduling trainings for 2026! If you or your small group is looking to participate in an AEVIT training this year, please contact our sales team and let them know of your interest.
We are very excited for the upcoming conferences and expos this year. The first we will be attending is the NMEDA 2026 Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida February 20-22. If you plan to be there, stop by our booth and try out the A.I. Commander and Digitone. If there are any upcoming events in 2026 that you would like EMC to be a part of, please send us a message!
