Orthotics are used to grip the AEVIT™ System Inputs. At EMC, we strive for the freedom of mobility for all of our drivers. Orthotics can be designed for user's with full grip, little grip, or no grip strength. To make possible to operate every input safely, EMC has created the Custom Orthotic Design Program to better fit driving controls to their end user.

The Design Process
1
CDRS Design
Begin by talking with a CDRS about what limitations exist with the standard line up of orthotics. Design a prototype and describe the criteria of what this new orthotic needs to offer.
2
Send to Engineering
EMC's engineering team will study the prototype design and begin creating the new orthotic in the CAD program, meeting all critic set forth by the customer.
3
Review
After internal review, we print a prototype and send it to the customer for validation. With the customer happy with the prototype, we print a final copy out of carbon fiber infused nylon.

Customer Examples
The following are all examples of orthotics we’ve designed for customers.
THA Cup
The THA Cup was designed to perfectly fit a customer’s residual limb.
It rotates on a ball bearing to glide with the motion of the L-Series Input Device.

Flight Stick
The Flightstick emulates the design and form of an aviaton joystick a customer sent in.
The complex angles and shapes show that anything is possible with custom orthotics.

Short Top
Sometimes simple is all you need. The Short Top was a design request from a CDRS
to put in their evaluation tool box. It has become an often prescribed orthotic.

Full Catalogue of Custom Order Orthotics
The AEVIT™ System, by nature, allows for deep customization of how a driver will operate a vehicle. These custom orthotics further expand on this principal, allowing for endless possibilities for how a vehicle can be controlled. If you can dream it, we can design it. Below are a line up of previously designed orthotics that can be ordered.
Spinning Series
Mounts onto wheel input device.
Ring Series
Mounts onto joystick or lever input device.
Studded Series
Mounts onto joystick or lever input device.
