Primary Driving Controls

Primary Driving Controls
The AEVIT primary driving control platform manufactured by EMC offers a variety of unique input devices for remote operation of the gas, brake, and steering controls in a vehicle. AEVIT is a servomotor control system. One servomotor is equipped to depress the OEM brake pedal and accelerator pedal and another is used to rotate the factory steering column. AEVIT utilizes digital processor controls to translate user inputs into the desired output by the servomotors.

L-Series
The L-Series AEVIT digital gas and brake control utilizes a lever. The direction for braking is selectable in the programming of the system.

W-Series
The W-series AEVIT digital steering control utilizes a wheel input device.

J-Series
The J-Series AEVIT digital gas, brake, and steering control utilizes a Joystick input device to control Steering on the X-axis and gas and brake in the Y-axis. The direction for braking is selectable in the programing of the system.

X/Y-Series
The X-Series AEVIT digital steering control that utilizes a single-axis joystick positioned on the x-axis. The Y-Series AEVIT digital gas and brake control utilizes a single-axis joystick positioned on the y-axis. The direction for braking is selectable in the programming of the system.

XY-Series
The XY-Series AEVIT digital gas, brake, and steering control utilizes two independent input devices. The single axis joysticks are programed to be X-axis for steering and y-axis for gas and brake. The direction for braking is selectable in the programming of the system.

WL-Series
The WL-series AEVIT digital gas, brake, and steering control utilizes two independent input devices. The W-series type wheel input device is used for steering and the L-series type lever input device is used for gas and brake. The direction for braking is selectable in the programming of the system.

WY-Series
The WY-series AEVIT digital gas, brake, and steering control utilizes two independent input devices. The W-series type wheel input device is used for steering and the single axis joystick input device is used for gas and brake. The direction for braking is selectable in the programming of the system.

XL-Series
The XL-Series AEVIT digital gas, brake, and steering control utilizes two independent input devices. The single axis joystick input device is used for steering and the L-series type lever is used for gas and brake. The direction for braking is selectable in the programming of the system.

AEVIT™ 2.0 Chassis
The AEVIT™ Chassis is not only made to house primary control modules, but also allow for quick removal of any module for service. The Chassis also serves as the strain relief point for all primary control wore harnesses so removing a module only takes a few seconds.

J-Series Two-Axis Joystick
J-Series The mechanism is extremely low-effort, requiring a maximum input force of only 0.2 lbs, and is internally spring-loaded to return to the center, or null, position. The input device can be positioned for either left hand or right hand operation. The software flexibility within the system provides four unique control algorithms developed by EMC specifically for joystick steering. These allow on screen programming in the display by the dealer and evaluator to maximize the clients input strength and range of motion.

X/Y-Series Single-Axis Joystick
The Single-Axis Joystick input device can be positioned for either left hand or right hand operation. The flexibility of the software allows for a selectable Gas & Brake input direction, and sensitivity curves, that can be programmed by a Certified Dealer or professional driver rehab specialist to suit each individual.

L-Series Lever Input
The L-Series is a gas & brake control that utilizes a lever input device. Input force is managed by two horizontally opposed internal dampeners that provide the return-to-center mechanism and produce a smooth feel that can be adjusted independently for both the gas and brake direction.

W-Series Wheel Input
The W-Series is a vehicle steering control that utilizes a 5″ diameter wheel input device. Due to its ease-of-use, it is favored among 2-handed drivers. The total number of rotations from full left steer to full right steer is 5-6.7 turns depending upon the vehicle.

AEVIT™ 2.0 VIM
The Vehicle Interface Module is small and more powerful then the previous Gold Series CPU. This single module contains the termination point for all secondary control wire harnesses as well as a direct connection to the vehicle's On Board Diagnostic (OBD) computer.

AEVIT™ 2.0 Steering Servomotor
The Steering Servomotor controls the steering of the vehicle from the input device.

AEVIT™ 2.0 Gas/Brake Servomotor
The Gas and Brake Servomotor controls the gas and braking of the vehicle from the input device.
